About this blog

Sandy Hereld, generous with love and laughter
My partner, Sandy Hereld, died in July 2011. I was devastated by the loss, and surprised to discover that she's still with me in many ways. Here, I write about my experiences as a widow, memories of our life together, and the challenges of navigating the world after the impossible has happened. Sometimes I also post about the politics of breast cancer, marriage equality, and other issues that affected our life together.

I'm pleased that friends and family have joined me in this extended memorial to the woman who was - and remains - so loved. Just as welcome are acquaintances and even strangers who are open to experiencing this journey with me.
